ASC 606

ASC stands for Accounting Standards Codification. The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) wanted to establish set guidelines in addition to the "Generally accepted accounting principles" or GAAP that accounting professionals follow. This time, more comprehensive disclosures are now required. It covers revenue derived from contracts with customers, as well as the identification of licensing and performance obligations.
